  Recycling Fundraiser: Help wanted !!!

Please help us recycle “Colgate ® Oral Care” items by collecting them this June and July 2017. Thanks to the waste, recycle, and upcycle program TerraCycle ®, our collection offers a fundraising opportunity for the Cincinnati registered educative non-profit organization Mariama Bara School.

Fundraising for a school: Handmade Fabric Portraits
Our "2016 Collection 1" of hand made fabric portraits, to raise funds for our school. Decorate a room with a simple hook to place this artwork on - for a good cause.



Fundraising for a school: African Kids' Artwork

Guinean pre-school kids of the J.B.L. School created artwork to help raise funds to build an academic and vocational school to attend to.
The Mariama Bara School (MBS), Cincinnati registered charity has for objective to build such a school in Boffa, Guinea (West Africa) including an exchange program with Cincinnati, Ohio schools.

Holiday Season event 2015: Christmas Baskets and more

 December 28th, 2015 from 6:30pm to 9:00pm: Christmas Baskets (Hand decorated), Cake & Drinks sale for a good cause. Our Cincinnati registered educational charity Mariama Bara School (MBS) holds a booth at the Bi-Okoto Cultural Center.

MBS’ goal: Raising funds to help give access to continuing education by building a vocational institution in a remote area with high demand.
Location details: Bi-Okoto Cultural Center (Pleasant Ridge), 5601 Montgomery Road, (513) 221-6112. Kwanzaa Extravaganza Event, “Ujima= Collective Work & Responsibility” day.


Summer 2015 - Follow up visit in Guinea (Conakry)
A visit to our partner school "JBL School" in Guinea, Conakry as follow up of the Winter Event of 2014 (see below) showed that staff, parents, and children continued preventive hygienic measures for them and visitors of the school, following the Ebola scare.
Special thanks also to the support of the "Weltladen, Kreuz des Südens - Southern Cross" charity for its support in extending the Ebola prevention action through funds.

Fundraising event for our partner school "J.B.L School" (Kindergarden & Primary school in Guinea, Conakry). A booth at this great family oriented, dynamic & healthy Zumba event was held, bringing awareness and togetherness. 


A member of our charity represented in Germany the "Mariama Bara School" charity and its preventive action against the Ebola situation in West Africa, in collaboration with the Zumba dance event below

Community Involvement  - Holiday Season
Further fundraiser activities followed. Each one being a wonderful opportunity to get involved with the community, get further brainstorming ideas and grow network on bringing this project to life.

After its first fundraiser event on November 5th, 2010 in Cincinnati, Ohio; mission & vision of this project were shared; through American & African food and artistic performances.   Among us people of all walks of life uniting to impact this American and African school exchange program building in Boffa, Guinea.

 Additional thanks to artists & performers Baoku Moses, Colombia Viva, David (Visionary Painter). Yvette D., Reagen D., Clara M., Marianne L. S., Nadine S. for coordinating the event & Bi-Okoto Cultural Institute for room use.
